Resident eligibility for institutions
- Institutions established with the purpose of medical R&D
- Institutions with departments responsible for medical R&D
- Medical institutions
- [Universities as per Article 2 of the Higher Education Act]
- Research institutions
※ Research institutes attached to institutions that specialize in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and/or the healthcare technology industry - Government-sponsored institutions
※ Institutions that specialize in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and/or the healthcare technology development
Resident restrictions
- Institutions that are deemed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to be incompatible with the purpose of Medivalley, or those that are deemed ineligible due to other circumstances (pollution/water concerns, etc.)
Resident eligibility criteria
Institutions that are able to build facilities that meet the requirements and purpose of Medivalley as written in its Residence and Management Plan,
and that are able to obtain the proper licenses, permits, and/or registration for individual facilities according to all related laws
Researcher personnel criteria
- Eligible residents must have on staff three researchers who are solely engaged in medical R&D, without being responsible for any additional tasks such as business or sales.
※ Only one researcher is required if resident in question is a venture company as per Article 2 of the Act on Special Measures for the Promotion of Venture Businesses
Research facility criteria
- Residents must possess the following facilities for the performance of medical R&D
- One or more research rooms
- Research equipment, including experimental devices and electronic recording media, that can be exclusively used by the researchers
- Air cleaners and air conditioning and heating facilities
